Greg's Poem

A Beautiful Name

Our discord breeds in silence,
the light escaping your eyes,
my own eyes darting from faces
to the floor.

The totality of my desire
swirled towards you with the force
of hurricane winds,
only to retreat into stillness,
pleading forgiveness for the audacity
of dreams.

You'll lose me in a matter of days,
yet in the crawling years to come
my eyes will be stained by the lines and curves
of each letter of your name.

too far.

He said my head was completely clean except for one thing
and that was the self doubt and that would kill me.
And when he saw me putting up the pictures and the words
and the paintings
and the photographs on my walls,
he knew what I was trying to save.
He said I was trying to keep it all obvious.
I needed my walls around me reminding me of all the truths I had in my heart.
It’s like my new friend, how she has tattoos on her skin
and they mean the things she can’t ever let herself forget.
She defines herself.

He used the word ANCHOR. Like we are all boats in the water.
Like my reminders anchored me and kept me from drifting too far.
My photo
mind open, heart enlarged, soul receptive

I love my followers.
